Le Grand Café - centre d'art contemporain, Saint-Nazaire (France)
As part of an invitation by Le Grand Café - centre d'art contemporain, Saint-Nazaire and Guillaume Désanges, the young duo of artists mountaincutters came to Saint-Nazaire several times.

During their residency, the artists carried out research in and around Saint-Nazaire, drawing on the industrial, historical and sensory resources of the area. mountaincutters carried out fieldwork for material research, linked to a contextual practice and making Saint-Nazaire a fictitious genealogy.

The artists worked in particular with a glassmaker specialising in the manufacture of hollow glass, Arcam Glass, located in Vertou. This collaboration resulted in the production of glass wheels and blown glass forms.

They also took over the Grand Café workshop to produce new pieces, as well as the ceramic workshop of the Saint-Nazaire School of Arts, which provided them with firing tools.

During their residency, mountaincutters met with local actors in the Saint-Nazaire area and its agglomeration. In particular, the company Romi Recyclage and the company PMO, both located in Montoir-de-Bretagne, with whom a partnership for the exhibition was set up.
